July Trestleboard

July Trestleboard

Greetings Brethren:

In June, we took a break from degree work and instead focused on our youth and social activities.  Bro Brian Coleman did a great job supporting our activities at the Herndon Festival.  The DeMolay and the Bethel both installed new officers for the upcoming term – congratulations to Master Councilor Carter Gill and Honored Queen Lexi Marsh for taking on roles of responsibility within their groups.  Together with Freedom Lodge, we enjoyed great weather and better fellowship at our Lodge picnic.  At our Stated, Bro Rob Martin provided a reminder of the importance of donating blood (blood drive on the 27th) and WB Don Gauger provided an informative program regarding St Johns Day.  We concluded the month with a fraternal visit to A. Douglas Smith Lodge of Research.

Spring Clean Up | April 7

Spring Clean Up | April 7

The weather kept us indoors, but plenty of hard work was done to clean up and repair items around the Lodge.   Thanks go out to the Jobies, DeMolay and Eastern Star for their support.   Also to Brothers Bennett Corrado, Brutus Cooper, Chris Pendleton, David Harrison, Rob Martin, David Twigg, Rob Worthington, Jim Dietzel, Eric LeHew, and WO Harrison for their time, energy, and dedication to the Lodge.

Spring is in the air.   One day soon the cold will break, the flowers will bloom, and the sun will warm us all.

To prepare for that, plan to to help on April 7 for the Temple clean up day.    The Town will hold its pick up everything the following week so this provides us a grand opportunity to clean out, refresh, and renew.

Some have already started.   The Eastern Star has replaced the curtains (hung in the Fellowship Hall in 1987) with new blinds.  Thank you very much for this change!

Brother Rob Martin has taken charge of his area – cleaning and organizing the Tyler’s position.   He even shined up the door knocker!

Bro David Harrison replaced the failed light at near the sidewalk – bringing light thru Masonry!
Crews will be working on the 7th both inside and outside the Lodge.   Please come to lend a hand.

April Trestleboard

April Trestleboard

Greetings Brethren:

Spring has finally sprung.  We have made it past the equinox and are adding about 2 ½ minutes of daylight as each day passes.  Herndon Lodge was busy during the cold winter months.  In March, we had a dozen Brethren attend local DLCs.  Herndon exemplified the EA degree at the CA Sinclair Area School.  In separate Called Communications, we raised Bro Adnan Hadrovic to be a Master Mason – congratulations Bro Adnan – and initiated 2 new Brothers at the end of the month.  We also squeezed in a fraternal visit to Freedom Lodge to help them raise Bro Lee McPeak.  Congratulations as well to Kathy Rutter – Herndon OES Chapter’s newly installed Worthy Matron.
