Brethren,

I hope all of you are enjoying the summer with family and friends.  The month of July for Herndon Lodge was productive and filled with Brotherly Love.  We had a memorial for Mr. Takuma Akiba who had petitioned the Lodge and passed away before receiving his EA degree.  The memorial event was well attended by his family, friends and Brethren.  His family greatly appreciated the kindness of our Brotherhood to have such an event and the donations towards his burial expenses.  Thank you for assisting in this cause.  During July, the Lodge conferred FC and EA degrees while having 3 new petitioners.  We are on track with conferring degrees and I thank the Brethren for their support in growing the Lodge with new Masons. 

The First Stated in August is Warden’s Night and the Warden’s of Herndon Lodge will present a program about their upcoming terms in the East. On August 22nd is the Grand Master Official Dinner Banquet for District 4 at Manasseh Lodge, dinner tickets are $20 and available from our Lodge Secretary.  The main course is grill ribeye steaks with great fellowship.  Please come and enjoy this celebration with Most Worshipful Edmund Cohen. Herndon Lodge currently plans three dates to confer degrees in August: the 18th for FC (2), 25th for EA (3) and 30th for MM (5) degrees, please come out and support the new Brethren.  Please contact our Junior Warden if you can help out with the degree conferrals.

On September 9th is the Grand Master’s Official Tiled Visit to District 4 to be held at Kena Shrine Center hosted by Henry Lodge.  Tickets for the dinner are $20 and available through our Lodge Secretary. The dinner is at 6:30 PM with a Tiled Lodge at 7:30 PM and if you do not wish to attend the dinner, you can attend the Tiled Lodge without purchasing a dinner ticket. Another event is the Herndon Lodge Picnic on September 20 at 2:00 PM at RW Jackson’s, I believe this is the 40th anniversary of our Lodge picnic at his home; please contact Brother SW Covarrubias to help out with the picnic.
