WB Nolan Arritt, Past Master of Herndon Lodge has laid down his working tools. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 11 April commencing at 10:30 AM at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, 1050 West Main Street, Berryville, VA 22611.
I encourage all Brethren to attend. For those wishing to carpool, please meet at Herndon Lodge no later than 9 AM.

Nolan P. Arritt, 91 of Winchester, VA passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. For more than 58 years, he was a resident of the Great Falls and McLean Virginia area.
Nolan was born May 19, 1923, in Jordan Mines, VA. He was a World War II Navy Veteran serving from 1943-46, as Boatswains Mate DM 30 in the Asiatic-Pacific and European-African-Middle East Campaigns, receiving five distinguished medals for his service. After his service, he attended the College of William and Mary, Lynchburg College, and George Washington University. Nolan retired from Fairfax County Public Schools in 1980 after 30 years of service as a Teacher and Elementary School Principal.
In addition, Nolan was an avid golfer for over fifty years, a member of the River Bend Golf and Country Club since 1962, and member of the VA State Golf Association. He was a member of the Herndon Masonic Lodge since 1957. A craftsman and builder, in the early 1950s Nolan built his family’s home in Great Falls. He was a member of Great Falls United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children: Susan, Debbie (William), and Dan Arritt (Julie), and Jenny Groh; five grandchildren: Zachary, Kirsten, Karmen, Kyle, and Xinru Arritt; and stepdaughters Cindy and Barbara Dobyns. In addition, his former wife, Peggy Money LeCompte as well as, Donna Segar, his companion caretaker.
His wife, Yvonne Arritt, preceded Nolan in death.
The family will receive friends 9:00 – 11:00 A. M. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 A. M with The Rev. Dr. Kitty Hahn-Campanella officiating.
Private burial with military honors will be held at the Lone Star Cemetery, Jordan Mines, VA at a later date.
