Brethren,

I hope all of you who are fathers had a good Father’s Day. One of the things we strive for is to be better fathers. One aspect of this is the Child ID program we support every year at the Herndon Festival. At this year’s festival, we processed over 300 children with the assistance of the county sheriff’s department. Well done, Brother Coleman for organizing this successful effort. We also presented two students at Herndon elementary with gift cards for $50 each. We ask the school to select one boy and one girl who represent the qualities of leadership and fellowship to be recipients. Thanks go to Wor. Phil Brooks for once again providing us the cards and working with the school and Bro Al Diplacedi for representing us at the ceremony. This past month also saw us having a Brother deliver his EA catechism under the direction of Wor Varun. Worshipful then passed the Brother to the degree of Fellowcraft. We expect to be able to raise the Brother to the sublime degree of Master Mason in July or August. Also in June, Kate Colella once again became Honored Queen of Bethel 52. Congratulations Kate and we hope you will have a great term.

July will see us celebrate the 4th of July. On this most patriotic of days please keep our servicemen and women who are away from their families in your thoughts and prayers and we wish them to return safely to their families and friends. We will welcome our District Education Officer, Wor. Jim Kraut, to our First Stated meeting on 7 July. Please come out to see another of our LEO’s great programs and support our DEO. On Saturday 19 July we will have the next running of the Subordinate Lodge Officer Training (SLOT). All officers are required to attend one of these each year but it is useful information for all Master Masons.

For our First Stated in August we will have the C. Richard Walk Memorial Lecture from RW Michael Pobat. This is another of RW Pobat’s excellent talks that he started working on last year with Dick. All he’ll tell us is that it’s another in his series of talks along the line of his Commander Herndon and Brother Pike talks. It should prove a fun evening. For our First Stated in September we will have a Hawaiian (or Aloha) shirt night combined with a bring-a-friend night. Now that summer is upon us and vacation time is here I hope you all stay safe and enjoy the time with your families. If you can find time in your busy schedules to come out to one of our dinners or even one of our meetings, we’d love to see you.

Sincerely and Fraternally

Tom Morrison, Worshipful Master
