I would like to recognize WB Hollander and WB Gauger for their patriotic programs to honor our “Fourth of July” night. Hearty congratulations to Bro. Francis Daughty for receiving his 55 year Masonic pin. Many thanks to WB Hollander, Bro. Brooks, Bro. Valker, Bro. Conway, and Bro. Ruark for scanning the photos of our PMs. I would also like to extend my special appreciation to RWB Harrison for a wonderful job on rearranging the photos of Herndon PMs in our social hall. Kudos to our newest FCs receiving their degrees and our cast for putting on a great conferral!
August is another busy month. At our First Stated Communication on August 2, Worshipful S. Brent Morris (33° G.C. and author of "Complete Idiot’s Guide to Freemasonry") will present a very interesting program on Freemasonry open to family and friends. We will also present the Community Builders Award that same evening during dinner. The Reid James Simmons Academy will be held at Fork Union, VA from August 1-4. A Fraternal Visit to Acacia Lodge #16 is scheduled for August 5. Our Lodge will co-host a Blood Drive with Ashburn-Sterling Lodge #288 on August 14. We will also run a Child ID service at our Lodge that same day. At our Second Stated Communication on August 16, multiple District 4 Committee Chairs will make short presentations on their services. The District 4 Ritual School is on August 18 at Mt. Carmel Lodge #133 and Herndon Lodge is obligated to provide the JW. Degree practice is on August 19 at 6pm followed by the Beehive Club Meeting at 7:30pm. Two Called Communications for Degree Work are scheduled for August 23 and 30 commencing at 7pm. The Officers Meeting is on August 26 at 7pm followed by a short practice session.
Finally Brethren, September should be another exciting month with Presentations by our Beehive Club, a second Surprise Program, and “Bring a Friend Night”.
